BOOK FAIR

Hours are the same as the Main Library & the Fort Lauderdale Reading Center

The Book Fair shelves are loaded with interesting new and used items - books, magazines, videos, CD's, DVD's, audiotapes and even art prints! Items come in daily and range from current best sellers to the rare and unusual.

Table displays, which are changed frequently, highlight the richness of the collection. They have included best sellers, science fiction, boats and boating, cookbooks, military history, self-help and help people find items of interest.

FIRST FRIDAYS

Hours are 10:30am until 3pm, at the Main Library (suspended due to Corona Virus)

This special event is held on the first Friday of every month. Featuring the pick of that month's donations, there are books, CD’s, and DVD’s on a wide range of subjects. From children's books to literary criticism, there's something for everyone.

First Friday also includes the Friends Attic, an eclectic assortment of items from artwork to jewelry, baskets to glassware, dolls and doll houses to games and puzzles.

DONATIONS

The items you donate to our Book Fair and Attic are tax deductible

We gratefully accept hardbound or paperback books in good condition, and CD's and DVD's. We especially welcome: art, history, cookbooks, gardening, children's, computers, health, language, best sellers and collectibles, as well as recent publications and unusual topics.

Donors should box their items, mark them for Friends, and bring them to the 2nd floor or Loading dock at Main or to the Fort Lauderdale Reading Center. Include your name and address and we will send acknowledgement of your donation.

Please note, we cannot accept:
- Items that are mildewed or in poor condition
- Encyclopedias older than 5 years
- Law books of cases, statutes or regulations
- Textbooks older than 5 years

All proceeds go directly to the Main and Fort Lauderdale Reading Center for their programming and special needs
